Recertification audit information

Welcome to the recertification audit information page.

If you have been selected for audit please read this information carefully as it provides guidance on how you can successfully meet the audit requirements.

Under section 41 of the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003, the Nursing Council requires 5% of nurses to complete the recertification audit annually.

When you are selected for audit you are required to send evidence that supports your declaration that you have met the continuing competence requirements.  This evidence is required by the Council under section 26(2) of the Act and must be supplied before you are issued with a practising certificate.

It is important that you contact Council staff if you have any difficulties complying with the requirements of the audit.

A list of Frequently asked questions about audit is available please click here.  Please read these before contacting the Nursing Council by telephone on 0508 4 AUDIT (0508 4 28348) or by emailing audit@nursingcouncil.org.nz
