OSCE performance reports: Frequently asked questions
The performance report does not provide my score. Can I request this?
No. Your individual performance report will show whether you ‘met’ or ‘did not meet’ the standard for each clinical scenario.
The Council does not provide numerical scores for individual stations or for the OSCE overall. This is because OSCE results are assessed cumulatively across all the stations and it is possible to fail one or more stations and still achieve an overall pass.
Will the Council provide me with more information about my performance report?
No. The Council is unable to provide additional performance information beyond what is included in the OSCE performance report.
The OSCE is a regulated examination, and maintaining the integrity of the examination process is important.
Do I need to complete a form to request an OSCE performance report?
Whether you need to request a performance report depends on when you sat the OSCE and whether you were unsuccessful.
- If you sat the OSCE from 12 January 2026, and were unsuccessful, a performance report will be sent to you automatically.
- If you sat the OSCE between 1 October and 20 December 2025 and were unsuccessful, you can request a performance report from the Nursing Council. Requests are open from 8 June 2026 to 31 August 2026 only.
- If you sat the OSCE before 1 October 2025, performance reports are not available, as reporting mechanisms for the current system do not extend further back than this date.
