2026 Nominations for the election of the Nursing Council members are now closed

As confirmed by the Deputy Returning Officer, nominations for three nurse members to be elected to the Nursing Council of New Zealand (Council) Board closed at 5pm, Thursday 9 July 2026. Twenty nine (29) nominations were received for the three (3) positions available.

The candidates are:

As there were more nominations received than positions available, an election will be required. Any nurse who is registered with the Council and holds a current annual practising certificate as at 5pm Thursday 9 July 2026 is eligible to vote. Nurses with a valid email address recorded with the Council will be emailed their voting details on Monday 3 August 2026. Nurses who do not have an email address recorded with the Council will be posted a voting credentials letter on Monday 3 August 2026, which will take between 3-5 days to be delivered. Voting will close at 5pm, Friday 11 September 2026.
